Update on Like a Prayer

The parents involved have now given their side of the story. They say the sessions with the teacher ‘became increasingly traumatic’, that she ‘used every opportunity to discuss religion’, that it was made clear to her that they were a ‘non-religious family’ and ‘did not want to discuss these issues in this way’ and that her actions ’caused our family much distress at what is a difficult time’. This is a family whose 14 year old daughter, who was being taught maths by Mrs Jones, has leukaemia and is too ill to attend school. They were entirely within their rights to request that Mrs Jones no longer taught their daughter, and I think the onus is on Mrs Jones now to show some compassion and respect for their views on this matter.
