Haiti – earthquake

DFID is making excellent use of its websitewww.dfid.gov.uk – and its Twitter account – @dfid_uk – to show what the UK is doing to help the people of Haiti, including sending out search and rescue teams. The UK were first on the scene after the Pakistan earthquake and are acknowledged experts in this field. Of course after the rescue efforts have been exhausted, there will be a huge amount of reconstruction needed, in what was already one of the world’s poorest countries. You can donate to the Disasters Emergency Committee appeal at www.dec.org.uk.
