In honour of today’s debate in Parliament on foreign affairs and Europe, here’s the speech Paul Weston, UKIP candidate for my London flat would have made if he’d been elected. It’s from his election address. A sad loss to parliament indeed. (And no, I’m not on the electoral register there. If I was I’d have voted for Dave the drummer from Blur.)

“I believe Great Britain has been betrayed by politicians since the 1960s. The current Labour government has employed ex-communists and many Communist sympathisers. We have been sold out to an unelected foreign power and deliberately colonised at home, while our entire educational and media establishments have been subverted in order to faciliate these twin acts of treason.”

He looks like quite a normal bloke on his leaflets.

Sorry Kerry, I don’t want to sound dim, there maybe a bit of hyperbole and artistic licence, but is there anything intrinsically wrong in what he said?

  • woodsy  On June 3, 2010 at 2:53 pm

“I believe Great Britain has been betrayed by politicians since the 1960s.”

Mr Weston’s grasp of history is very short term. I’d say the rot started with the Norman Conquest of 1066, which brought about the abolition of the Witenagemot and other elements of Anglo-Saxon democracy, such as the hundred and shire moots.

  • jruddy  On June 3, 2010 at 8:47 pm

Quote right, woodsy. It was obviously the overthrow of a directly elected King, Harold, and his replacement by a foreign elite. Everything went downhill from there.

  • Cirret  On June 3, 2010 at 9:05 pm

Not talking about the US, is he?

  • @genji2000  On June 3, 2010 at 9:56 pm

I hope you don’t think I’m being deliberately belligerent, Kerry, but are you now thinking of 80s song titles and trying to crowbar MP stories into them? It’s not that it seems tenuous, it’s just that there isn’t really any reason to mention this except to match up with the song title. I mean, someone went on a sickening but legally licensed killing spree yesterday and you’re commenting on irrelevant influences on an irrelevant and defunct political ‘movement’. I would hate for you to become as laughable as the Ed Balls fangirls we see mindlessly RT’ing garbage on Twitter.

Wouldn’t it be more insularly apposite to give us your opinion on Harriet Harman’s ludicrous pitch to force the ever-diminishing Labour shadow cabinet to comprise of 50% wimminz when only a third of the PLP is female?

  • kerrymccarthy  On June 3, 2010 at 11:47 pm

Genji2000 – It was actually something I’d noted down a week or so ago but hadn’t got round to posting. I just thought someone somewhere might find it mildly amusing.

I don’t regard this blog as a running commentary on everything that happens, and I think it would be difficult to blog about the Cumbrian shootings without being trite, or opportunistic (eg. calling for tighter gun controls)

As for the Shadow Cabinet quotas, that’s something everyone was already discussing on Twitter at some length. Not sure I could add much to the debate now. Also, see my very recent post ‘Special People’ defending positive action (though in that case re BME candidates for jobs, in a very limited context).

Paul Weston is a mate of one of your old Ex Sparring partners

  • Neil Lees  On June 4, 2010 at 2:28 am

This U.K.I.P. racist His Own Blog

  • TheBoilingFrog  On June 4, 2010 at 8:35 am

I agree with DaveA here, the tone maybe slightly OTT but exactly what is inaccurate about the fundamentals of what Paul Weston said?

  • kerrymccarthy  On June 4, 2010 at 11:53 am

Thanks for the links Neil – for those who are wondering out loud what exactly is wrong with what he’s said, I suggest you look at the post “Ethnic Cleansing of the English” on the candidate’s blog.

    • TheBoilingFrog  On June 4, 2010 at 12:28 pm

Right ok, I’ve just looked it up, that puts a different perspective on it. The chap in question appears to be in the wrong party.

It would have helped your original point if you had made reference to this in your post. Perhaps the omission was deliberate?

  • Paul Weston  On June 4, 2010 at 4:06 pm

    Dear Ms McCarthy

I note that you put up my election address in order to provide amusement for your readership.

You sneer, but you fail to answer the point that the Labour Party had a very close relationship with Soviet Communism for very many years.

You obviously feel that promoting an ideology that killed over 100 million and reduced every country where it was in power into economic, environmental and social disaster areas is not a matter of great shame?

Throughout most of the 60s, 70s and 80s Labour was an ardent admirer of Moscow, despite Stalin’s genocide having become public knowledge.

Many British Trades Unions leaders, headed up by Jack Jones, were even on Moscow’s payroll.

In modern times Peter Mandelson and John Reid were both Communist Party members, David Blunkett, Jack Straw, Charles Clarke and Harriet Harman – Communist sympathisers.

I should also mention that it is not racist to point out the great injustices carried out, (extraordinarily by the party that purports to care about the working class!) by the Labour party against the white working class of this country.

    Your party betrayed them utterly.

Karl Marx realised that the existing social order had to be smashed before Communism could take over many Western countries. The greater the crisis the more power was needed by the government, until eventually Marx would “stand astride the wreckage a colossus.”

In order to smash a stable society it is necessary to import a group of people who are the diametric opposite of the society you wish to smash, hence the hard Left’s alliance with Islam.

I often wonder why a party that puts human rights, gender rights and homosexual rights at such an elevated level should also be supporters of Islam?

After all, what is the difference between Hitler’s Nazism and Mohammed’s Islamism?
    .
Both were revered prophets, both had global ambitions, both were prepared to use violence to fulfill those global ambitions, both thought of themselves as the master race, both wanted to eradicate the Jews, both wanted to eradicate homosexuals, and both thought women fit only for
    religious
study, the bedroom and the kitchen.

Why do the Left today support Islam despite all the above? Because they are revolutionary pawns that’s why.

Incidentally, speaking of Communists, why do you associate yourself with Mr Neil Lees?

Everything about him suggests he is a Communist, let alone his rather unpleasant threats he makes to those he opposes.

    Quote:

“I am ashamed to be located on the same island as you you fucking Nazi scum. Slandering Obama, Islam and New Labour shows you to be gutter trash of the highest order. I do hope that you realise that the glorious U.A.F. can locate anybody, anywhere and at any time, and your card is now marked and we’re coming to get you at a time of our choosing. I might be behind you tomorrow in the street, on the bus, in the pub, you’ll just never know, as B.N.P. Nazis like you are just too damned stupid to deal with your superiors and betters. You have been warned. Panic you scum panic.”

Oh Lordy, what an unpleasant man.

Are you sure, Ms McCarthy, you should be seen publicly associating with such a character?

If you wish to answer any of my points about Communists and the Labour party, or indeed your betrayal of your core vote – the white working class Brit – do feel free. I will check back in later.

  • Dazed & Confused  On June 5, 2010 at 1:14 am

Oh dear Kerry. Thanking an S.W.P. member for links he’s given, whilst at the very same time casting your own allegations that a U.K.I.P. supporter isn’t all that he’s cracked up to be.

Could I ask what your doing cozying up the far left in the shape of Neil Lees?

  • Barking Spider  On June 5, 2010 at 1:28 am

Oh dear Kerry. Thanking an S.W.P. member for links he’s given, whilst at the very same time casting your own allegations that a U.K.I.P. supporter isn’t all that he’s cracked up to be.

Could I ask what your doing cosying up to the far left in the shape of Neil Lees, a known communist?

  • Paul Weston  On June 9, 2010 at 9:44 pm

    Dear Ms McCarthy

Checking back in as promised, purely in order to hear your eloquent rebuttal of my Labour Party/Communist Party affiliation accusations.

But I am met with a deafening silence!

I suppose now is not the time therefore, to elaborate on my other points?

Regardless; may I ask you why you sneer at my mentioning we (the British people – your constituents) have been sold out to a foreign power abroad?

Your party manifesto pledged a referendum on whether we should sign up to the EU Constitution, I believe?

You backtracked and refused said referendum on the spurious grounds it had changed its name to the Lisbon Treaty.

Ergo, you sold us out to a foreign power abroad, having made sure you repealed the Treason Laws before you did so.

As far as allowing us to be colonised at home, I refer you to Mr Andrew Neather. Do you deny this?

Do you deny that you (the Labour Party) have(has)subverted our media and educational establishments to further the above twin acts of treason?

Are you aware that your party has slavishly followed the writings of Theodore Adorno, Charles Reich, Georg Lukacs and Herbert Marcuse, who combined to engineer a popular 1960s blueprint on the methodology of Western Civilisational destruction?

And finally, who or what do you think will step into the cultural/political void that follows their/your planned destruction of our liberal democracy?

The hard left envisaged Communism. The revolutionary pawn called Islam, which you attempted to use as the antithesis of Western Civilisation, may have a differing outlook.

Whomsoever wins, do you have any idea – any idea at all – of the future violent catastrophes unthinking people such as yourself, have set in motion?

As you have deliberately put yourself in a position of public accountability, I do hope you find the time to argue my points which you put on your site in order to mock.

Not just these of course, but the earlier ones as well – with the overriding question being: Are you a hard left revolutionary, a useful idiot or merely (and more typically) simply not historically aware of the Labour Party’s agenda?

And before I sign off, I must ask if you are ashamed of your association with Mr Neil Lees. You have been made aware of his violent threats, so one must assume therefore that you condemn them outright?

It is far better to disassociate yourself with him now, rather than having to do so in the full public glare of todays voracious media.

Failure to do so would obviously leave you looking singularly foolish, which is something I am sure no upstanding, young, and vigourously careerist MP would wish.

Perhaps I was remiss in not previously mentioning that I have close family ensconced in the higher echelons of Mr Murdoch’s media empire?

  • Paul Weston  On July 12, 2010 at 9:03 pm

    Just checking in Kerry.

I see that despite this being your own site, you are unable to answer any of the points I raised.

Perhaps none of these had occurred to you?

Or perhaps you simply have no answer, because to answer honestly would undermine your entire political raison-d’etre?

Do you realise the implications of your silence?

Questions, questions, but as always with the liberal/left no answers, just destructive words and desrtructive ideology.

In a different era no doubt you would have graced a Commisars uniform enclothing a being in charge of a Gulag.

100 million murdered, and you still don’t understand how viciously dangerous your socialist ideology is.

Or perhaps you do. Hence your terrible, shameful silence.
