Less rubbish from the PM…

Following on from my previous post on Give it Up for One25, here’s an email Friends of the Earth have just sent out to all their supporters regarding their new “Ask the Prime Minister to talk less rubbish” campaign.

The link in the email takes you to their site, where you can email David Cameron telling him what you’ve had to throw away today.

The Government is currently deciding what to do about the nation’s rubbish.

This is a crucial opportunity to push for an ambitious goal to halve household ‘black bag’ waste by 2020.

Please ask the Prime Minister to talk half as much rubbish.

The results of the Waste Review are due in May – so this is your chance to tell him that you’re sick of seeing food and other waste being thrown away when it should be composted or recycled instead.

The solutions we’re suggesting would help local councils to provide better recycling and re-use services. They’d also encourage businesses to reduce packaging and make products that are built to last.

We need to show David Cameron that people want to throw away less rubbish, and have better recycling services instead.

Please take action today.

All the best,

PS. Please forward this on to all your friends
