Keeping two chevrons apart

I’ve spent most of this afternoon on the sofa with the laptop, iPad and phone, juggling emails and those sort of phone calls where you have to press 1 for this, and 2 for that, generally trying to sort out my life and finances. Having two offices, one of which I have to sort out the finances for myself, as well as living in two places and having moved home in both of those places in the last two years is not a recipe for an easy life.

I’m still trying to find the car’s MOT certificate, which I am pretty sure runs out round about now – as does the tax disc, the insurance, the AA membership…. In Ireland car drivers have to display three discs on their windscreen: one for tax, one for insurance, one for MOT. It’s a quick way of showing that all those documents are up-to-date. I don’t know why we don’t do it here. It would make it much easier for the police to catch uninsured drivers. It would also make it much easier for me to remember when my MOT runs out.
